Welcome to March my Blog family. I hope you are doing well. Queensland and New South Wales are currently flooding as we speak and although we are ok, we’re sparing a thought right now for those less fortunate.
It is International Womens Day this month on the 8th March 2022. This month we have donated extra through KIVA to the to celebrate.
As a bonus this month KIVA is giving $50 to donate to anyone who signs up and you can find them here https://www.kiva.org/monthlygood?category=women KIVA is one of the Organisations we donate to regularly and so by supporting this blog you can feel good that in turn you are helping support women worldwide improve their quality of life.
Thank you to KIVA for the work that you do and making it easy for us to help.
In our year of curating, last month we focused on curating wardrobe, shoes & accessories. This continued through the month and I can say my wardrobe is much lighter than it started out in January. A small bag of clothes and shoes went to the donation centre. Some accessories and jewellery I had finished with went down to our communal bookshelves and disappeared quickly. Our wardrobes get dusty like everything else and so at least once a year at a minimum but I try for twice I give all the shelving a clean & dust. I did that, bought a matching tray to the one I already had in there to corral jewellery and small things, a tidy up followed and then everything went back in. Even though I try to keep my wardrobe quite light, it had crept up a bit and I still found donation items and things I simply no longer wore. Those things are now on their way to being useful again to somebody else rather than being horded without use and taking up space in my wardrobe. I hope you joined along last month and that you also had success. You can share that success below in the comments. Let us know how much you moved along.
Over the last number of months I have slowly been curating my bookshelf and so this month I’ll be finishing that. I’ll be putting them on the shelves at the community book drop off for others to read. Between the library and the community shelves I am never at a lack for things to read and the generosity of spirit and community that the bookshelves represent make my heart happy. You will often see stationery and home goods there for anyone who needs them also. For yourself keep in mind schools, aged care facilities, some libraries accept donations, coffee shops and suburban street exchanges & even prison libraries I have read about. If the books are old and musty or spotted and yellow, or broken or damaged, simply recycle them. Don’t pass them along for someone else to have to deal with. Make the decision and recycle responsibly.
The home job I’ve decided to complete this month is the splitting & repotting of any of my plants that need it and to finish the outdoor rooms curtains. In Australia we’re heading into Autumn and I’ll have a think about what I might like to focus on this season. Check in next week to find out what that turned out to be and think about what you’d like your Autumn project to be. I’d love for you to share that in the comments below. Let us know below what you decided so we can all cheer each other on. Lets end up in cleaner, more curated and organised homes by the end of this then we did at the start. If you’re late to the party just start where you are. You can always go back and catch up if you have the time or will to.
That’s it for now blog family. Wishing you a wonderful March.
Till next time.
